Printmaking Services

The Digital Scanning process:

At ArtPress, we scan directly from your original artwork (up to 60"x80") using a proprietary camera system developed specifically for the Giclée process.  Eliminating a generation created by the photographic transparency assures the highest color accuracy and shadow detail possible in your final reproductions.

The proofing process:

The most creative and technical step in Giclée printmaking is the proofing process.  At ArtPress, proofing is a partnership between artist and printmaker.  Creating the final print by blending an artistic eye with the latest in color management systems, ArtPress can offer an uncompromising proofing service.

Printing

The final step in Giclée printmaking is producing the print.  Printing on 100% cotton fine art watercolor paper, we utilize both IRIS 3047G and the Epson 9600 printers to complete the process.  The IRIS printer offers superior continuous tone output and highlight detail, mimics the look and feel of the original art, and is the most physically durable print on the market.  This phenomenal durability is due to the fact that the prints are run on uncoated paper.  Epson prints are run on coated paper, which provides a slightly wider color gamut.  Epson prints also provide a lower price-point to the consumer and they offer the option of running prints on canvas.

Pricing

For each new art piece that will be printed as a Giclée, there is a one-time set-up fee that covers the scanning and proofing.  ArtPress bundles this process with various sheet options in our Scan, Proof, and Print Packages.  Once the piece has been scanned and color corrected, the file is stored for on-demand printmaking. One sheet or multiple sheets can be ordered and reprinted at any time.
